EXPERIENCED CLASS 8 DIESEL SERVICE MANAGER

 

American Diesel Outfitters LLC ® is seeking -experienced Class 8 Diesel Service Manager to fulfill a critical role in our clients operations. Generous compensation package to include relocation. Work with an elite leader in the industry!

**You MUST have experience with DDE, Freightliner or other heavy truck dealership management**

The Service Manager fulfills a critical role in our operations.This individual is responsible for supervising and directing all work completed within the service department as well as managing the financial performance of the service department. In addition, the Service Manager helps oversee total dealership operations as part of the management team.

 

 

 

Service Manager:

 

*Determines schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities.

*Prepares staff work schedules to ensure the department is staffed at all times, including the after-hours on-call schedule.

*Monitors employees’ work and reviews work performance.

*Inspects, tests, and measures completed work to verify conformance to standards and/or repair requirements.

*Prepares work orders including time and cost estimates, noting technician comments, technician sign off, repair completion, and road test completion.

*Understand and ensure compliance with all vendor polices and warranty procedures.

*Calculates actual costs including parts, labor, and other fees, and closes work orders for completed work.

*Discusses work orders with customers and technicians to ensure expectations are being met.

*Maintain high quality service repairs to minimize customer downtime.

*Follows up with customers on work order status and any unexpected issues that may arise.

*Conducts or arranges for employee training including monitoring vendor training needed by each technician to maintain knowledge and relevant certifications.

*Inspects work areas to ensure a clean and safe work environment. Completes or delegates housekeeping as needed.

*Investigates accidents or injuries, prepares and submits related reports, and determines correction to avoid similar incidents in the future.

*Calls customers to promote service department specials and promotions and to solicit work.

*Maintains inventory of shared tools, supplies, and reference materials in the shop and orders additional items as needed.

*Understand and keep abreast of all federal, state, and local regulations that affect service operations such as hazardous waste disposal, etc.

*Provides input and assists with creating the department budget.

*Reviews financial reports and takes corrective action if goals are not being met.

*Supervises service department employees, including interviewing candidates, training, evaluating performance, and communicating department and company information.

 

Qualifications and/or Experience:

employees are expected to have a friendly, positive attitude, a sense of urgency, and the ability to multi-task and solve problems.

Ability to operate heavy equipment and a forklift.

Must possess a current and valid driver license with a driving record that meets the insurability guidelines set forth by the company’s insurance carrier. CDL preferred.

3-5 years of Class 8 technical or related experience Preferred Education
